The Oasis Straw is a portable water filter. Its 0.1 micron hollow fiber membrane and activated carbon core remove 99.999999% of bacteria, 99.999% of parasites and 99.999% of microplastics from fresh water, along with dirt, sediment and turbidity. You can drink through it directly, squeeze water through it with the included 1.5L reservoir, or screw it onto any standard 28mm bottle.

No. Stored dry in a cool place, it has no shelf life at all. It can sit in an emergency kit, glovebox or bug out bag for decades and work the moment you need it. If you have used it, let it air dry fully before storing it.

About 6 inches long and 2 ounces in weight. It fits in a pocket, a purse or the smallest pouch of a pack, and the included carabiner clips it anywhere.

Remove both caps and drink through it straight from the source, like a straw. The first few sips take a little more suction while the membrane wets. You can also fill the reservoir and squeeze filtered water into a cup or bottle.

It needs moderate suction, so it works well for kids ages 5 and up. For younger children, use the squeeze bag to filter water into their bottles instead.

Every 25 to 50 gallons, or when the flow slows, backflush it with the included syringe: fill the syringe with clean filtered water, attach it to the outflow end and flush backwards 3 to 5 times. Shake out excess water and air dry before storage.

Two is one, one is none. We suggest at least one per person, and ideally two per person so everyone can drink at the same time from one source, with backup.
